Like most people, Michael Lifshitz has faced challenges in his life. The only difference is that his may be slightly more apparent. Michael was born with Multiple Congenital Musculoskeletal Abnormalities. He walks with a cane and uses a wheelchair for longer distances. Michael works in accounting at McGill University and in addition to penning Sure I Can, Michael speaks publicly and performs as a comedian; pursuits he utilizes to educate others about the accomplishments of exceptional people, and inspire people to overcome challenges of their own. |
 |
Sure I Can highlights the abilities of individuals with special needs to accomplish almost anything they set their minds to when afforded the opportunity. It encourages parents and caregivers of exceptional children to see beyond their kids’ current challenges and into their futures, futures filled with potential and meaning, where they can be active, contributing members of society. “We all face some sort of challenge in life,” says columnist Michael Lifshitz. “It’s your mindset that determines how limiting those challenges will be.” |
